The Delhi Police on Friday inducted an all-woman Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, consisting of 36 commandos — the first-ever by any police force in India — for anti-terrorist operations.

New Delhi: The newly inducted all women SWAT commandoes of Special Cell at the foundation stone laying ceremoy of the DCP South- West district, Police station Delhi Cantt. Office building and Delhi Police Residential complex, in New Delhi, on August 10, 2018. The all women SWAT commando team consists of 36 elite women, hailing from the North Eastern States, who have undergone rigorous fifteen month training which includes basic, commando and advanced honing of skills under the tutelage of NSG trainers.
