New book reveals magic formula to master motivation

Feb 15, 2021

Riyadh: An interesting book profiling the mind, memory and motivation of human beings to create a fulfilling career and active life will shortly hit the bookstands of India and the Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia. The 160-page exciting book titled “Why—Reason for Every Action” has been penned by Abdul Ghaffar, a veteran scholar currently working at the Healthcare Skill Training Institute of GE Healthcare in the Saudi capital.

Students, teachers, book lovers, and especially those seeking motivation, enthusiasm, and a good dose of inspiration are fascinated by the arrival of this first-ever book that explains different dimensions of life. This is one of the first books that presents research-based and tested materials to help young people answer the question, what am I going to do with my life? The book indeed is a great gift for any student, learner, or a guide for yourself.

“The focal point of the book is the importance of ‘why’ that is the axis point of your life,” said author Abdul Ghaffar in a brief interview here recently. Ghaffar, who holds three master’s degrees, said: “In the first chapter, the importance of ‘why’ has been introduced to readers. You will find the origin of ‘why’ and about the champions of it who discovered and applied in their life or in their business to achieve remarkable success.” “You will also come to know that which part of the brain helps you to know the reason for action…how does the frontal lobe of the brain help in strategic thinking?” he added.

The second chapter deals with the definition and genesis of ‘why’. It explains the reason for your action and the requirement to keep your mind and body healthy. The third chapter is the comparison among ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’. It deals with a logical sequence and interdependency on each other. In search of reason and goal, a perfect combination among ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ is clearly explained. Everyone’s mind has ‘what’ he wants, but he doesn’t know ‘why’ he wants, leading to a wrong decision about ‘how’ he wants.

“The fourth chapter discusses the meaning and importance of motivation and manipulation,” said Ghaffar, who is also a corporate trainer and motivational speaker. The book also explains the difference between these two. The sixth chapter defines the booster and killer of motivation, mainly responsible for increasing or decreasing your motivation level. The eighth chapter dwells on the reason for writing this book, while explaining the failure of many big companies.

Asked about the components of motivation as narrated in the book, Ghaffar said that “this book will gradually navigate you to get rid of procrastination and develop an interest in your routine work.” “The book’s core theme is motivation, and yet the book uses such plain language that anyone can understand it,” he added. That’s how this book constantly speaks to your curiosity, without making you feel overwhelmed, said Ghaffar, who has won several prizes and commendations in his professional career.

Taking an entirely different approach than the previous titles, Ghaffar makes the case that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade but on learning to stomach lemons better. “World was not aware of the reason for falling apples from the tree to the ground unless it was discovered by famous scientist Newton,” says the book in its concluding remarks.

This new book, which imparts lessons to change life for the better, is highly recommended for reading. Motivational books are usually about taking immediate action to ensure improvements in life and career. By contrast, this book by Ghaffar is a bit more well rounded-up long essay, thoughtful, inspirational, exhilarating, and educative.

This book ‘Why—Reason for Every Action’ can well be designated as one of the best motivational titles like ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey, ‘How to Win Friends & Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie, ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill, ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins, ‘Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff’ by Richard Carlson, ‘Drive’ by Daniel Pink and ‘The Power of Positing Thinking’ by author Norman Vincent Peale.

In conclusion, the book goes the extra mile in providing a remedy to several problems confronted by humanity. Author Ghaffar has brilliantly illustrated that motivation comes from many sources. At the highest level of performance, inspiration comes from your deepest and most profound sense of who you are and want to be. Motivation comes from the judicious use of carrots and sticks, said Ghaffar.

The book emphasizes right action, which is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result but the cause of fear. Therefore, this title ‘Why—Reason for Every Action’ finds its place in the bibliography of incredibly motivating books, which can change your life. In short, the book gives an inspiring moral lesson by quoting William James on page 56, which says, “action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.”
