‘Mission Save Constitution’ launched

Aug 16, 2020

New Delhi: Expressing oncern that some forces were trying to ”sabotage” the Constitution, a group led by senior lawyer Mehmood Pracha has launched a nationwide ”Mission Save the Constitution.

In a statement here, Pracha, who is convenor of the Mission, said the Constitution has been envisaged as the life, spirit and the real strength of India by Babasahab Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, but  attempts have been continuing to undermine it, so this precious document needs to be protected in letter and spirit at all costs.

”Recent developments including attempts being made at the highest level to dilute the fundamental guarantees like Equality, Justice, and Fraternity contained in the very Preamble of the Constitution, is visible in the form of encroachment upon Citizenship rights, Reservation rights, rights of the weaker sections of the society like SC/ST, OBCs, Minorities and Women and is a cause to alarm all patriotic citizens of India,” he said.

He said the best and the most effective method of saving and strengthening the Constitution and its values is a mass campaign/mission which is absolutely peaceful and within the four corners of the Constitution and the law of the land.

While launching Mission Save Constitution, on the Independence Day, Pracha said, “nobody can take away Babasaheb’s Constitution from Indians and nobody can take India away from the Constitution so long as there are Ambedkarites in India.”
