In a controversial statement, Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren cautioned people against depositing their money in the banks, citing corruption in the Narendra Modi regime. A video released by the CM has been doing round in the social media platform where Soren can be heard inciting people at Ramgarh to bury their money instead of deposition in the banks.
It is said that the Jharkhand CM statement is highly objectionable. The CM said depositing money in banks is not safe under Modi regime. The economy has collapsed, and there’s no telling when any bank will collapse.
According to sources, the CM said that the biggest corruption in independent India happened during the Modi regime. Due to this the economy of the country is falling and the hands and feet of the bankers are shaking, he said.
He said: “I have told the villages and rural farmers and workers from the beginning not to put your money in the bank.” Banks continue to fail now, Soren reportedly said.
He added: “From the very beginning, I have told farmers and labourers from villages and countryside that you should not deposit your money in the bank, because the banks are continuously running into losses. Fill the money in plastic and bury it in the ground, but don’t keep it in the bank. Never know when the bankers will run away with your money.”
He further targeted the Modi government for poor management of the economy. He suggested: “Earlier, the elders did the same thing. At least they used to get the amount they kept. If you get only as much as you have deposited today, it is enough.”
BJP hits back
The BJP has termed Soren’s statement as irresponsible and fueling corruption. Speaking exclusively with CNN-News18, former chief minister Raghubar Das said, “Since the Hemant government has come to power, there is a loot in land resources, natural resources and ‘Jal Jungle Zameen’. Illegal sand and coal mining is rampant. Obviously when black money will come, it would be hidden beneath the ground. He is the head of corrupt people, so he is giving such statements. Such remarks are unconstitutional from a chief minister.”
