The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) came to the rescue of the Adani group with the saffron group’s mouthpiece Organiser, in an article, saying that the attack on the beleaguered business conglomerate in is very similar to what anti-India George Soros did on the Bank of England and the Bank of Thailand and ruined them
Since Adani acquired coal mines in Australia, the report claims that independent Indian journalists and websites have been working to damage Adani’s reputation by accepting foreign cash. These journalists have been dubbed “digital sharpshooters” for allegedly accusing them of being influenced by left-wing views. All of these websites have been labelled as belonging to the “anti-patriotic cartel” since they continue to write with confidence about the accomplishments of the Modi government.
All of this is being done, the piece concludes, “with the 2024 elections in mind…attacking Adani also means attacking Modi.”
The Bob Brown Foundation (BBF), an eco-friendly NGO, runs a website called Adaniwatch.org. It started with the opposition to Adani’s coal mine project in Australia but it did not end there. Now this website publishes about any work or project related to Adani far and wide. The sole aim of this NGO is to damage the brand image of Adani. Its propaganda articles also intrude into Indian politics, freedom of expression etc, according to the mouthpiece.
The mouthpiece also mentioned about senior journalist Ravish Kumar leaving the news channel after Adani bought stake in NDTV recently. It said why would an environmentalist NGO tweet supporting a BBC documentary? What is its real purpose after all? BBF goes soft on the opposition. They do not target Adani projects in Congress or Trinamool Congress ruled states. They agree with a statement of protest against Rahul Gandhi. The story goes that Adani is turning to these states to shed the image of a Modi supporter.
Indian NGOs, websites getting funds
The National Foundation for India (NFI), an Indian NGO, also received funds from Soros, Ford Foundation, Rockefeller, Omidyar, Bill Gates and Azim Premji, the organizer wrote. Azim Premji started NGO IPSMF which funds some of the famous propaganda websites in India associated with leftist ideology.
Meanwhile, the Adani Enterprises Lts has shelved plan to raise as much as 10 billion rupees ($122 million) via its first-ever public sale of bonds following a market rout, according to people familiar with the matter, according to the Mint.
