Odisha offers Japan exclusive industrial cluster near Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made an offer for an exclusive Japan Industrial cluster and township near Bhubaneswar for which the state govt would provide all the necessary facilitation.

The offer was made when Union Minister Steel, Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and Japanese Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki met the Chief Minister and discussed development of Steel cluster in the state and prospects of Japanese investment in Steel Sector and downstream development in Odisha.

Rasika Chaubey, Addl Union Secretary Steel Rasika Chaubey gave a presentation about the new initiative called Purvodaya, which aims to drive accelerated development of Eastern India through establishment of integrated steel hubs in eastern states of India for which Odisha has the best potential.

This Eastern belt has the potential to add more than 75% of the country’s incremental steel capacity envisioned by the National Steel Policy. It is expected that out of the 300 MT capacity by 2030-31, over 200 MT can come from this region alone.

Patnaik urged the envoy to consider to be the country partner for Make In Odisha Concalve 2020, once again. He also made an offer for an exclusive Japan Industrial cluster and township near Bhubaneswar for which the state govt would provide all the necessary facilitation.

Located on the east coast of India, Odisha has a coastline of 480 kms along the Bay of Bengal. Traditionally, the State has been known for its mineral and mining strength. Since the turn of the millennium, the focus of the State has shifted to manufacturing and services industrial growth. The State Government has also taken several unique initiatives to ensure that a hassle-free and conducive business environment is provided to the investors setting up units in the State,
