  • Lalu’s daughter Rohini got praise from BJP leaders – Giriraj Singh and Nishikant Dubey
  • The 74-year-old veteran politician had a successful surgery on Monday
  • Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti have been staying with their ailing father in Singapore

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya has duly been receiving praise from all quarters for donating her kidney to her ailing father. However, what surprised many when she got praise from BJP leaders – Giriraj Singh and Nishikant Dubey.

Taking to the microblogging site Twitter, Giriraj Singh wrote, “Beti ho to Rohini jaisi” (Let all daughters be like Rohini). Praising her as the ideal daughter, Singh said, “I’m proud of you. You have set an example for future generations”. Another BJP leader Nishikant Dubey also tweeted praise for Rohini. He stated that he wanted to pick a fight with God for not blessing him with a daughter (like Rohini).

Though it was a risky decision both Lalu Yadav and Rohini Acharya are now recovering after successful completion of surgery.  The 74-year-old veteran politician had a successful surgery on Monday. His daughter Rohini Acharya, who is in her early 40s,” donated her kidney to Yadav, according to NDTV.

Lalu’s message for his well-wishers

RJD president Lalu Yadav, who is recovering at a hospital in Singapore after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery, has a message for his well-wishers. In a video shared by his elder daughter Misa Bharti on Twitter, Yadav said, “You all prayed for me. I am feeling good.” Yadav was advised a kidney transplant earlier this year. Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti have been staying with their ailing father in Singapore for the surgery.

Social media hails selfless act

On the other hand, Rohini got lots of praise on social media platforms. Scores of people tagged Rohini photograph with Lalu and wished for daughter like Rohini. In a post created moment before her surgery, Rohini shared a selfie and a photo with Lalu, claiming, “It’s time to rock and roll”.

While Lalu’s elder daughter Misa Bharti has been regularly sharing pictures, videos and updates on social media since the surgery, his son and deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has also been posting updates about his father and sister’s health. Tejashwi is younger than both Rohini and Misa. The deputy CM was in Singapore but leaders and several ministers in Bihar performed puja for Lalu’s recovery.

The septuagenarian father and daughter were admitted to the hospital on Sunday for pre-surgery tests and the transplant took place on Monday. Rohini on Saturday had posted a picture with her father on social media and wrote “We have not seen God but as God I have seen my father.”
