Golf: Aryan, Arjun hit the front at US Kids Indian Championship

New Delhi, 29 January: Aryan Kalia of Delhi and Arjun Rana of Gurgaon carded identical 2 over 74 and were tied for lead in the Boys’ 15-18 category at the end of the first round of the US Kids Indian Championship golf tournament at the Classic Golf Resort near Manesar on Wednesday.

Two shots behind them was Bangalore lad Ruhaan Bajaj.

In the Girls’ 15-18 category, Sri Lankan Kayla Perera also returned 2-over par 74 under tough conditions to take a 4-shot lead over Riya Yadav of Gurgaon.

Reigning European champion Chaitanya Pandey of Delhi hit the only sub-par card of the day shooting 1-under par 35 in the Boys’ 8 category with Jaipur’s Devvrat Singh Rajawat trailing by two strokes.

Meanwhile, Ragini Navet of Delhi who had won the Malaysia Kids Championship in December last, brought in the second best card signing an even-par card of 72 in the Girls’ 13-14 category. She is being chased by Mumbai’s Nisha Patel who was just a stroke behind.
