Riyadh: A leading construction company, Contracting and Construction Enterprises (CCE), with interests in construction, contracting, and engineering, is marking 35 years of its operation, boosting a track record of hundreds of projects with a combined value of over SR14 billion. The CCE, based in Riyadh, is celebrating the milestone as it builds on a portfolio that touches the corporate, retail, industrial, hospitality, and infrastructure sectors, among many others.
This was disclosed by Mr. Toni Antoun, CCE’s Business Development Director, in an interview here. Mashael Al Tamimi, CCE’s Senior Marketing Specialist was also present. Mr. Antoun said that “the CCE, which maintains a diversified portfolio across aviation, infrastructure, logistics, industrial facilities, data centers,and hospitality, is experiencing strong growth driven by Saudi Arabia’s ambitious development agenda within the framework of Vision 2030 plan.”
Mr. Antoun, a top-notch engineer with more than 29 years of experience, pointed out that “the CCE’s key ongoing projects include SR250 million SAL Jeddah Air Cargo Terminal Phase 2, SR190 million Lucid Motors Manufacturing Facility Phase 2 in KAEC, and SR1.3 billion JEDCO South Terminal Rehabilitation at King Abdulaziz International Airport, where CCE/ALGIHAZ is in a joint-venture with TAV Company.
These are in addition to the Diriyah Headquarters Offices and infrastructure project, SR 270 million Qiddiya Wadi Bridge B1 Project being executed in joint venture with Dogus, Temporary Buildings and Infrastructure Works in Diriyah, SEC STATCOM Project in Al-Ula, and a top Golf Facility in Riyadh. These projects reflect CCE’s strategic focus on sectors that are central to Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation and future growth.
Referring to the several iconic projects executed by the company in the past, Mr. Antoun said that the “CCE has successfully delivered projects with a cumulative value exceeding SR14 billion across Saudi Arabia during the last three decades of operation.The company’s legacy is rooted in over 20 years of strategic partnership with Saudi Aramco, executing major industrial and infrastructure projects.”
He explained that the primary focus of the company remains Saudi Arabia, where unprecedented opportunities are being created through Vision 2030. “At present, our growth strategy is concentrated on supporting the Kingdom's transformation while selectively exploring expansion opportunities that align with our expertise and long-term objectives,” added the CCE top business executive, while referring to the role of CCE within the framework
of Saudi Vision 2030.
To this end, he said that Vision 2030 is not only a national transformation program; it is a blueprint for building a sustainable economy driven by Saudi talent, innovation, and private sector growth. “We are actively contributing to Vision 2030 by developing local capabilities, supporting Saudization, increasing local content participation, and creating long-term opportunities for Saudi engineers, technicians, and professionals”
Today, Saudi Arabia has tremendous potential to attract the best resources, the best global companies, and also a sizable investment. Mr. Antoun said the company is also credited with completing several iconic projects in Saudi Arabia, which include: Tadawul High Rise Tower at KAFD, the headquarters of the Saudi Stock Exchange, valued at approximately SR 1.9 billion, SR1 billion Al Rajhi Bank Headquarters, SR1 billion Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC, and the SR450 million CITC Headquarters Tower in Riyadh.
Some other prestigious projects include KAFD and SAMA Tier IV Data Centers in Riyadh, Jizan Economic City Primary Utilities Infrastructure with ARAMCO, Red Sea Global Coastal Village Infrastructure, and 49 Branches of Saudi Investment Bank (SIB) across the Kingdom during a period of 10 years. The company has also developed strong capabilities in BIM coordination, modular construction, complex MEP systems, Tier IV data centers, and sustainable construction.
Referring to the Saudization of manpower at CCE, Mr. Antoun said that the company has around 1900 employees, including 270 Saudi personnel. “The company continuously invests in recruiting young Saudi engineers and graduates, providing them with practical site experiences, mentorship programs, technical training, and leadership development opportunities,” he added, while referring to the company’s plan to be more active in the country and the region.
Mr. Antoun, who has set up a CCE Business Development Unit with high-caliber members delivering tenders up to SR15 billion every year, said that “the CCE is actively exploring strategic opportunities beyond the Kingdom as part of its regional growth.” In particular, the company is assessing projects funded by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in other markets such as Bahrain and Pakistan, where Saudi-owned companies are expected to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure and building projects.
Referring to the opportunities in the Saudi construction and contracting sector, he pointed out that the Kingdom currently represents the largest construction market in the Middle East, with hundreds of billions of riyals invested annually across infrastructure, tourism, housing, transportation, energy, and industrial developments. Major projects currently driving themarket include Expo 2030, Diriyah, Qiddiya, New Murabba, airport expansion, stadiums, logistics zones, and numerous housing and hospitality developments.
In reply to a question about corporate social responsibility, he pointed out that the CCE views corporate social responsibility as an essential part of its role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s sustainable development and contributing positively to the communities in which it operates. “As part of our environmental commitment, CCE is currently investing with Net Zero Company to support the Saudi Green Initiative and the Kingdom’s broader environmental objectives. Through this initiative, CCE is planning to contribute to the planting of approximately 600 trees under the CCE name,” he added.
In addition, CCE is actively looking for opportunities to partner and engage with recycling and reuse companies to explore opportunities for donating furniture, equipment, and other usable materials available in our stores. This initiative aims to reduce waste while ensuring that valuable assets can benefit members of Saudi society and support community welfare. To this end, he also advised the young Saudi aspirants to embrace technology, spend time on project sites, and never stop learning.
He advised building a reputation on integrity, commitment, and delivering results, while saying that the next generation of Saudi construction leaders will play a vital role in building one of the most ambitious national transformations in modern history. “At CCE, we believe that delivering projects is only part of our responsibility. Equally important is developing Saudi talent, increasing local content participation, transferring knowledge, and supporting the objectives of Vision 2030,” he reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting workforce development by investing in training and empowering talent, with a particular focus on nurturing young Saudi professionals.
