Oxford University recycles 15 tons of waste paper in India in last 3 years

New Delhi: Since 2016, Oxford University Press India OUP India has recycled over 15 tons of waste paper equivalent to saving of 255 trees, 420,496 liters of water, 26,280 liters of oil & 61,155 KW hours of energy.

These figures were released by OUP as it renewed its commitment ‘World Environment Day’ to continue working towards reducing its carbon footprints through its paper recycling initiative.

OUPI in 2016 formed a partnership with Jaagruti, a private organization working in the field of paper recycling and since then, the organization has recycled all the waste paper in its Delhi-NCR offices. This waste is recycled to produce notepads and A4 paper that are used across OUP India offices.

Recently, on 15th April on the occasion of world art day, OUPI employees painted environment conservation slogans and wall arts at an education charity for the underprivileged kids – Ritinjali’s Nathupur Pahari learning center in Gurgaon. The activity was aimed at giving out important environmental and social messages to the local community people and also to the children studying the center.
