Tej Pratap Yadav quits RJD national meet, accuses party leader of abusing him

New Delhi: Bihar minister and Lalu Prasad’s son Tej Pratap Yadav stormed out of the party’s national meet on Sunday in the national capital alleging that RJD senior leader Shyam Rajak used expletives at his sister and personal assistant (PA), according to ANI.

“Shyam Rajak abused me, my personal assistant and my sister today when I asked him about the meeting schedule. I have an audio recording, and I’ll put it on my social media. Such BJP-RSS people should be thrown out of the organisation,” he told the media outside. Tej Pratap holds junior rank in the state government compared to his younger brother Tejashwi, who is deputy to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Rajak, however, told NDTV, “I don’t want to comment on it. I am a weak man and under stress. I am in trouble.” He added: “Even though my nephew died two days ago, I have come to the party programme. I am very upset with what happened today.”

However, the 34-year-old is not a stranger to controversy and has earned himself a reputation of being somewhat of a political maverick.

His turbulent marriage and temper tantrums often make headlines to flare-ups over his role in the party. In July, he had a run-in with the police in Uttar Pradesh and was reportedly barred from performing a ‘parikrama’ of a temple in Mathura in his car, reported NDTV.

RJDs two-day national convention began in New Delhi on Sunday. As per the media report, trouble is reportedly brewing within the Lalu’s party as state president Jagdanand Singh skipped the two-day national convention.

Jagdanand Singh has been upset with the party’s top leadership ever since his son Sudhakar Singh was forced to resign from the Nitish Kumar government as the agriculture minister, reported India Today.
