New Delhi: Over 103 year old renowned cardiologist , Dr Padmavati Sivarama Krishna Iyer, fondly known as Dr Padmavati, fell victim to the dreaded disease of corona virus, after doctors battling for eleven days were unable to save her at the National Heart Institute (which was set up by her) on the night of August 29.
According to doctors, she was Corona positive and had pneumonia of both lungs. She had been kept on ventilator.She succumbed to her illness and passed away due to cardiac arrest.
She was cremated at the designated Covid 19, CNG crematorium in Punjabi Bagh following all required protocol.
