NOIDA: After the video of a woman abusing and physically assaulting the security guards of a housing society in Noida went viral, the woman in the clip has been arrested by the Noida Police Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday evening in Jaypee Greens Wish Town in Noida.

A viral video purportedly showing a woman abusing and physically assaulting security guards of a housing society in Noida has been arrested, said police on Sunday.

The woman, identified as Bhavya Roy, has been arrested after an altercation with the security guard of her residential society. In the video, which was widely circulated on social media, the woman can be seen shouting expletives, using indecent gestures and threatening and manhandling one of the security guards, according to The Print.

As per media report, the woman drove in a sedan at the Jaypee Wishtown society in Noida’s Sector 126 where she confronted the security guards over the delay in opening the gate. She was apparently drunk, police said.

The Print reported that the woman is a lawyer by profession and has been living in Pavilion Court, within Wish Town, since May 2022.

In the video, the woman can be seen manhandling one of the guards, dragging him by the collar of his uniform, hurling abuses and also asking the guards to “respect women”.

“Bhavya Roy came with her car and when I stood up to open the gates, she got out of the car and started hurling abuses at me. She hit me in front of everyone and humiliated me. She also threatened to kill me. She was drunk at the time of the incident. I and the other guards tried to stop her but she didn’t stop and continued to insult me. Another guard made a video of the incident which is now on Facebook, Twitter,” reads the complaint, as reported by the portal.
