New Delhi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Friday described the Manipur violence against women as  a matter of shame, and said the culprits should not be spared.

” Incidents do happen but the main point was how you deal with the culprits,” Mr Khan said while replying to questions from reports on the atrocities against women of a particular community, especially the incident ion the viral video during the recent ethnic flareup in the north-eastern state.

He was here to release a book written by noted columnist and former BJP MP Balbir Punj, ” Naarrative Ka Mayajaal”.

Mr Khan said the culprits should be brought to justice so that people have faith in the system.

Earlier, speaking after releasing the book, the Kerala governor spoke at length about the inclusiveness in the Indian culture and civilisation, and its philosophical, spiritual, and religious traditions as found in the sanatan dharma which teaches all human beings to see others as not separate from oneself but as part of oneself, as reflection of God himself.

If one followed the sanatan dharma, there would be no place in one’s heart for hatred against anyone in this world, he said.

Without naming the RSS, the Kerala Governor praised the ” good work” being done by the organisation. He said that since he was holding the post of a governor, he would not name it, but a ” swayam sevi sanstha” (Voluntary organisation) was doing an excellent work. He especially noted the Ekal Vidya education project of the Sangh.

The book release function was also attended by RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabole, writer and legal expert J Sai Deepak and a large number of distinguished personalities from different walks of life.

Author of the book, Mr Punj in his remarks said that his book was an attempt to note the various doctored narratives created in India and their impact on the society, culture and politics, and empower the reader to discern the truth from a web of myriads of tales.
