Pakistani comedian Umer Sharif passed away this evening in Germany at the age of 66 after battling severe health complications. His death was confirmed by his wife Zareen Umer’s sister.
Sharif was being taken in an air ambulance to the United States, where he had planned to receive treatment.
According to India Today, his health conditions deteriorated during a stopover in Germany, following which he was admitted to a hospital in Germany’s Nuremberg on Wednesday.
Doctors reportedly diagnosed him with multiple ailments, including coronary conditions.
Umer Sharif had suffered a heart attack in August of this year. As per his close aide Pervaiz Kaifi, the comedian had already undergone two heart bypasses at the time. He had earlier appealed to Pakistan PM Imran Khan through a video, to help him secure a visa for his medical treatment abroad. – INDIA NEWS STREAM
