Hindutva news anchor Suresh Chavanke has called for converting 40 lakh Muslim women to Hinduism to increase the decreasing ratio of women among Hindus.

Chavanke, who earned notoriety for his communal diatribe against Muslims and Christians, runs a news channel and is known to be ‘nationalist’ newsman in the Hindutva constituency. Pitched for brining 4 million Muslim women to Hindu fold, Chavanke said: “We need forty lakh women from the Muslim community to increase the ratio that women are less than men among Hindus. Then, we will match the ratio of men and women among Hindus. Tell this Maulana that we don’t need to be worried for 30 lakh Muslims so far. We will see it later for another 10 lakh.” Chavanke made the controversial remarks while talking to a YouTube Channel.

In the purported video which is viral across the social media platforms reportedly enumerated the benefits of conversion to Hinduism. He told the interviewer in the video that Muslim women would be safe after their conversion to Hindu religion. He also alleged that polygamy is rampant among the Muslims, so the women would not be forced to live as ‘cowife’ (souten). “They will not be child-produce machines if they convert to Hindu religion,” he said.

Chavanke also informed that he was going to address an event in Nasik and dared anyone to stop him from going there. He said he does not need permission from “Owaisi ke Pille” (Puppets of AIMMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi) and aulad (progeny) of Mughal King Aurangzeb.

There is no reaction from police so far on the provocative comments. The authorities have been accused of showing leniency in taking legal action against Chavanke who keep ratcheting up provocative comments. He is facing an FIR for making hate speeches at Dharam Sansad held in New Delhi in December 2021. The Supreme Court also pulled Delhi police for showing leniency in taking legal action against him.
