Lucknow University jumps to A++ grade in NAAC survey

Lucknow: The University of Lucknow) has been accredited with an A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), amidst the protests by university students against extra payment for mess and hostel facilities as their examination got delayed.

After three days of evaluation from July 21 to 23, NAAC gave the A++ grade to the university for the first time and also making it the first and only university in the state of Uttar Pradesh to receive A++ grade. Previously, the university had only received grades up to B+. NAAC is a UGC funded autonomous body for assessing Higher Education Institutions in the country.

LU shared the news on Twitter and wrote: “University of Lucknow accredited A++ with NAAC. Our sincere gratitude to Her Excellency @GovernorofUp Smt @anandibenpatel for her constant mentorship and congratulations to the entire @lkouniv family.”

The Vice- Chancellor of the 102 years old state university Prof. Alok Kumar Rai also tweeted “Many congratulations to all the university fraternity”.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath also took to the twitter and congratulated the university for achieving the milestone.

LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava said the NAAC team suggested that a reading room should be constructed in University’s Cooperative Lending Library.
