Navsari (Gujarat) Job losses and freezing of mobility caused by corona pandemic situation have brought thousands of young Indians to the brink of penury. Ond of these many people is a young IT professional from Gujarat Jigar Balkrishna Dave, a migrant in NewZealand.
These people are impatiently awaiting permission from the NewZealand Government to let them in and resume their job.
When Dave got a government job in Auckland three years ago after years of struggle, he thought it was the end of all his trials and tribulations.
His parents who live in Navsari area of Gujarat had used all their life savings to send him to NewZealand to study, work and settle.
”Luckily I got job in Auckland council after 3 years but when my contract was about to extend I had urgency to go to India in March due to family issues. Now I lost my job and my all savings too. I came back to where I started 3 years ago,” Dave told India News Stream.
”Soon I will be in debt and my house owner in Auckland will take away my belongings and vehicle from me as I cant pay rent anymore. I am in dire straits.I have been well off socially and other ways but it is the first time in my life that I have to present my grievience before others,” said Dave .
There are many youths from NewZealand, who had come to India on a short visit but have been stuck up here beacuse of the suspension of international flights and other restrictions due to Covid-19 situation.
”I and many other young Indians are undergoing a mental agony we never experienced before as our whole career is now endangered. The more the NewZealand Government delays permission for our entry, the more debt we would incur which would leave us financially bankrupt,” 26-year-old Dave said.
They are using all possible aveneues to urge the NewZealand Government to let them in and begin their life once more.
