Delhi rains claim one more life; teenager drowns in Haji Colony

New Delhi: Delhi rains claimed one more life on Monday when a teenager was drowned in a man made pool in Haji Colony area of south-east Delhi.

According to social activist Shadab Alam, who lives in the area, the teenager, Amir, aged 18, had gone to rescue another boy from the water body  but was himself drowned in the process, as narrated by people living in the colony.

His body could be fished out after a lot of efforts by the fire department personnel with the help of locals.

A pall of gloom descended on the area after the teenager’s body was brought out from the pool.

The deceased belonged to a very poor family, and his parents live in a rented house in the colony.
