Prominent Indian journalist and social worker Ghazanfar Khan felicitated

GOPALGANJ (INDIA): A prominent Indian journalist and social worker—Ghazanfar Ali Khan—was felicitated by a cross-section of political leaders, businessmen, and top-notch individuals from various walks of life living and working in Gopalganj town of Bihar. Ghazanfar has made a mark across the country, particularly in the Indian state of Bihar, due to his excellent social services, help for social and educational projects, and extended aid to innocent Indians stranded abroad.

The brief felicitation ceremony was attended by Reyazul Haque Raju, former chairman of the Bihar Minority Commission; Mohammed Zubair Alam, a leading businessman, Sohail Ahmed Ladley, another businessman, and a large number of people from the district of Gopalganj. Ghazanfar is currently involved in two school projects implemented by Datuttauheed Educational & Charitable Trust in the town beside several other projects in different parts of India.

Speaking on this occasion, Ghazanfar expressed his gratitude for receiving the recognition and said that he would do the social and educational work for the community. “In the realm of education, change is not merely an option; it’s an imperative,” said Ghazanfar, adding that the future of a nation hinges on the quality and accessibility of its educational opportunities. “Such efforts exemplify the importance of education and aligns with the broader educational goals of India,” he added.

He said India’s educational landscape is vast and diverse, with the government setting ambitious goals to ensure quality education for all. To this end, he also mentioned about a Vision Document prepared for the upliftment of Muslims and minorities in India. The Vision Document, comprising several initiatives, will be officially launched on January 1, 2025. Ghazanfar has been working in mainstream Saudi media for the last 28 years with expertise in writing political stories, business reports, and consultancy.

He has been working as a freelancer from Riyadh for a few major foreign media outlets, including Foreign Policy News (an American news portal), The Yomiuri Shimbun (a national newspaper of Japan), and Indianewsstream.com (a news portal of India). He is also associated with the Riyadh-based Big City Solutions Company for Business Services as their senior business consultant.
He worked for 25 years as Bureau Chief of Arab News, the largest English daily of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. He has written and published about 25,000 reports, news stories and features in different publications including ‘Arab News’, ‘The Diplomat’ (A journal published by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs), ‘Ahlan Wasahlan’ (Inflight Magazine of Saudi Arabian Airlines), ‘The Hindustan Times’, a daily newspaper published from India; and ‘The Nation and the World’, an Indian magazine beside a few other media outlets.
He has reported widely on politics, development, security, entertainment, aviation, and humanitarian issues from Saudi Arabia, India, the UK, Italy, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Nepal, Bahrain, Switzerland, Sweden, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the UAE, China, Malaysia, Bahrain, and Germany. He was awarded “Saudi Arabia’s Arab News Best Reporter Award” in 1995 and the European Union Familiarization Certificate in 2009. He was a jury member for several journalism awards, including Samir Foundation Award in Lebanon a few years back.
