Anti-CAA protestors’ lawyer Mehmood Pracha hails HC order on Kafeel, says still conscientious judges left despite pressure

Sep 1, 2020
New Delhi: Noted lawyer Mehmood Pracha and convenor of ‘Mission Save the Constitution’ , who is fighting the cases for Delhi riot victims and anti-CAA protestors, today welcomed the Allahabad High Court Judgement clearing Dr Kafeel Khan of all charges unde NSA, saying there were still consceintious people left in the judiciary who held the rule of law dear .

”Judiciary was the last bastion of hope for the persecuted, and the judgement in the Dr Kafeel Khan case has shown that our judicary still has people
who upheld what was just despite so much pressure on the institution,” Pracha said reacting to the High Court order.

The judges in their order have said that Dr. Kafeel Khan’s speech at the Aligarh Muslim University on December 13, 2019, amidst the anti- CAA protests, that led to his arrest and detention thereafter, does not disclose any effort to instigate hate speech against any community or the government.

The lawyer said,” the RSS and the BJP should now take lesson from this judgement and stop persecuting the innocent people. After all, there is a limit of injustice and blatant lies.”
