New Delhi: The national capital has reported first cas of monkeypox with a 34-year-old man with no history of foreign travel testing positive for the viral diseasel, agencies reported quoting official sources.
The patient is undergoing treaatment at the Maulana Azad Medical College Hospital where he was admitted around three days ago after he showed symptoms of monkeypox.
According to the source, his samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune on Saturday which came out positive.
Earlier three case of monkey pox were reported from Kerala, which has increased the tally to four.
The World Health Organization has declared the global monkeypox outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern.
