4,506, Covid cases reported so far in India, 775 died

New Delhi: The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 24,506 on Saturday, including foreign nationals, with 18,668 active cases, while the death toll has increased to 775, the Union Health Ministry said.

The Health Ministry said in its daily update that of the 775 deaths, the highest — 301 — was reported from Maharashtra, followed by Gujarat with 127 fatalities.

“A total of 5,062 patients have been cured and discharged,” the Ministry said.

Maharashtra remained the worst hit state with total number of positive cases rising to 6,817, followed by Gujarat at 2,815 cases, Delhi at 2,514 cases and Rajasthan at 2,034 cases, according to the data.

In Andman Nicobar island, the total number of cases has risen to 127 out of which 11 have been cured and discharged.

Andhra Pradesh has reported 955 cases, 145 cured and 29 deaths. Assam has 36 cases of coronavirus positive cases, while 19 have been cured with 1 death.

Chandigarh has reported only 27 cases with 14 recoveries and Chhattisgarh has only 36 cases so far with 30 people recovered from the virus. The state has only six active cases now.

Delhi has witnessed continuous rise in coronavirus cases. The state has reported 2514 cases out of which 857 have been cured and 53 people have died so far.

Gujarat continues to report rise in cases. The total number has gone up to 2815 with 265 recoveries and 127 deaths.

Haryana has 272 cases with 156 recoveries and three deaths. No new cases were reported in Himachal Pradesh where the tally still stands at 40 with 18 recoveries.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the total number of cases has gone up to 454 out of which 109 discharges and 5 deaths.

Jharkhand has reported 57 cases so far with 8 recoveries and 3 deaths.

Karnataka’s tally has risen to 474 out of which 152 have been cured and discharged, while 18 people have died in the state due to coronavirus.

Kerala has reported 450 cases, out of which 331 have been discharged while 3 people have died in the state.

Madhya Pradesh has seen big spike in coronavirus positive cases. The state’s tally has climbed to 1852, while 210 have recovered and 92 people have died of the disease so far.

Maharashtra tops with 6817 corona positive cases while 840 people have recovered and death toll at staggering 301, according to the latest information.

Rajasthan has also seen a sharp rise in cases. The tally has gone up to 2034, while 230 patients have been cured and 27 people have died in the state so far.

Tamil Nadu has reported 1755 cases so far out of which 866 have recovererd and 22 people have died of the disease in the state so far.

Telangana’s tally has gone up to 984 out of which 253 have been cured and 26 people have died.

The total number of infected cases in Uttar Pradesh is 1621 while 247 have been discharged and 25 people have died so far.

In West Bengal, 571 people are infected with the disease out of which 103 have been discharged and 18 have died. IANS
