GTF’s Hajj Volunteer Services earns praise from Indian diplomatic mission

RIYADH: The Global Telangana Forum (GTF), a major expatriate organization working in Saudi Arabia, has been commended for its extensive volunteer services during Hajj 2026, with officials from the Indian Consulate in Jeddah acknowledging the organization's contribution to supporting pilgrims throughout the holy pilgrimage season. India was among the top three countries that sent the largest number of pilgrims this year.

If you look at the numbers, India’s allocation is actually among the largest. Indonesia sent about 221,000 pilgrims, Pakistan around 180,000, and India comes right after with 175,025. Several community organizations, including NGOs and individuals, responded to the call to serve the pilgrims during Hajj this year.
But GTF was at the forefront, led by Mohammed Jabbar, founder
and President of the Global Telangana Forum.

Continuing its tradition of community service, GTF deployed a dedicated team of authorized volunteers to assist pilgrims in the holy city of Makkah during the Hajj period. Working under permits issued by the Registered Saudi Organizations, volunteers from Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and other regions of Saudi Arabia
provided guidance, logistical support, and on-the-ground assistance to worshippers.

According to a statement issued by the organization, the initiative was driven by a commitment to humanitarian service and the spirit of selflessness. The volunteers helped pilgrims navigate key locations, provided information and support, and worked to ensure a smoother experience for visitors undertaking one of the most significant journeys of their lives. The Hajj volunteer campaign was led by Mohammed Jabbar, Founder and President of the Global Telangana Forum, with support from Mohammed Laeeq, Vice President, and Shaik Imtiaz, General Secretary.

The leadership team oversaw planning, coordination, and implementation of the volunteer program across multiple locations. Several key members of GTF also played an active role in the mission, including Dr. Junaid, Dr. M Abdul Matheen, Veera Swamy, Hussain Shabbir, Syed Imran, Khallelullah, and Yaseen Ali, who were responsible for team deployment, logistics coordination, and supervising services across various locations.

Before Hajj, all volunteers participated in comprehensive training and orientation sessions covering their responsibilities, crowd management procedures, safety protocols, and guidance on responding effectively to emergencies. The organization emphasized that all volunteers operated in compliance with Saudi regulations governing Hajj-related services.

Only authorized volunteers are permitted to provide assistance during the pilgrimage season, and GTF stated that its team carried out its responsibilities in accordance with the Kingdom’s laws and operational requirements. Community members and pilgrims expressed appreciation for the volunteers efforts, highlighting their role in assisting visitors during the demanding Hajj period. The recognition from the Indian Consulate in Jeddah
further underscores the value of community-led initiatives that contribute to the welfare and comfort of pilgrims.

GTF has been involved in a range of community and welfare activities over the years and has become known for mobilizing volunteers during major religious and social events. The organization said it remains committed to serving pilgrims and supporting community welfare initiatives in the future.
