New Delhi: President Ramnath Kovind today urged the government to ensure stringent punishment for crime against women and said the Modi government’s aim was to build a secure nation.
Addressing a joint session of both houses of Parliament here, President Kovind said equality of women was of paramount imprtance, and end if the practice of triple talaq was one if the steps in that direction.
He also dwelt on the various steps taken by the givernment to secure the nation against various kinds threats to the nation, including terrorism.
The President also said that the mandate given to the Modi government by the people in the elections was for continuance if the development process started in 2014 with the slogan of ‘ sab ka saath, sab ka vikas.’
