Bihar polls: IMPAR urges pol parties to include Muslims’ empowerment in their agenda

New Delhi: IMPAR (Indian Muslim for Progress and Reform), an apex national forum established by more than 1000 prominent members of the community, on Monday appealed to political parties contesting the Bihar Assembly elections to include in their agenda political, social and economic empowerment of the community.

”Bihar State is undergoing general legislative elections to chose new government. IMPAR feels that all the political parties must include Muslims concern for education, social and political empowerment into their working agenda to bring the community into mainstream,” IMPAR said in a press statement here.

The state is going for first phase of the polls on October 28.

IMPAR demands also included access to modern and quality education to the children and youth of the community by creating educational infrastructure in the areas dominated by them, and provision of free and quality health service to to all by improving Primary Health Centers (PHC) in such areas.

Setting up of new ITIs, Skill Training Centers, support to creation of 2 Lakh new and existing enterprises by giving easy loans/ subsidies, building capacities by technological and marketing support were the other demands made by the organisation.

The statement also said rejuvenating artisan clusters by linking to markets, technologies, common facility centers and creating local livelihoods to check migration should also be given major focus.

IMPAR also wanted a special package for empowering Muslim women and getting them into mainstream.
