Sushma put people at core of Indian diplomacy: MEA

New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) team has paid glowing tributes to former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj who passed away on Tuesday night, saying she left a lasting legacy for “putting people at the core of the Indian diplomacy”.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: #TeamMEA mourns the sad demise of former External Affairs Minister #sushmaswaraj. Enjoying immense respect within the Ministry and outside, for her compassionate and amiable personality, she has left a lasting legacy for putting people at the core of Indian diplomacy.”

Sushma Swaraj, 67, who breathed her last at the AIIMS following a heart attack, has left the Ministry with new legacy with her outreach to the Indian diaspora around the world. She would respond to any call for help from Indians anywhere in the world.

“Even if you are stuck on the Mars, Indian Embassy there will help you,” was one of Ms Swaraj’s most read tweets.
