New Delhi: National Security adviser Ajit Doval on Saturday cautioned the nation against elements trying to create conflict in the name of religion and ideology, and called upon the people of the country to work towards “strengthening our voices.”
The delegates of the inter-faith dialogue also adopted a resolution, seeking ban on PFI and other fronts — which are “creating discord among citizens”.
“Action should be taken as per the provisions of law against any person or organisation found guilty by any means with evidence of spreading hatred among communities,” the participants said unanimously.
It was also resolved that those targeting gods, goddesses and prophets in discussions or debates should be “condemned and dealt with as per law”.
“Action should be taken as per the provisions of law against any person or organisation found guilty by any means with evidence of spreading hatred among communities,” the resolution read.
Speaking on the occasion, National Security adviser Ajit Doval cautioned the nation against elements trying to create conflict in the name of religion and ideology, and called upon the people of the country to work towards “strengthening our voices.”
“There is an atmosphere of conflict in the world, and if we have to deal with it then it is necessary to maintain the unity of the country. The way India is progressing, people of all religions will get benefited from it,” Doval said during the meet.
“Some elements are trying to create an atmosphere that’s vitiating the progress of India, which is affecting the entire country while spilling over outside the country too,” he added.
NSA Doval further added, “Instead of being mute spectators, we have to work on the ground on our differences along with strengthening our voices. We have to make every sect of India feel that we are a country together, we are proud of it and that every religion can be professed with freedom here.”
The meet was organised as part of Modi government’s outreach programme to ensure religious harmony in the country. Apart from religious leaders of different religions, Sufi saints also participated in the dialogue.
