Noted poet Rahat Indori passes away

Indore: Noted Urdu poet Rahat Indori is no more.

The 70-year-old poet, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, passed away here on Tuesday morming following  cardiac arrest.

Rahat Indori earlier on took twitter to announce that he has tested for the virus on Monday.

“After showing initial Covid19 symptoms, I was tested for the virus on Monday and I am declared positive for the virus today and have been admitted to Aurobindo hospital,” he had written on Twitter this morning.

Rahat’s poetry touched the heart milions of Urdu lovers in the subcontinent and other parts of the world. Known for his unique style of rendering his compositions, he remained centre of attraction in Mushayaras over many years.
