Indian, Pakistani troops trade fire on LoC

Srinagar:Indian and Pakistan troops traded fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector on Monday.

Police said the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire on the LoC, leading to retaliation by the Indian Army.

“The Pakistanis used small arms, automatics and mortars to target Indian positions in Kamalkote area,” an officer said. “The Indian Army took retaliatory action.”

The officer said the guns fell silent after a while. No casualty was reported from the Indian side, the officer said.(IANS)
