Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena over notices being sent to him with increasing frequency, calling them ‘love letters’.
The Delhi CM tweeted: “My wife doesn’t scold me as much as L-G sahib does every day. In the past six months, the number of love letters that the L-G has written to me, my wife hasn’t written to me in my whole life. L-G sahib, chill a little. And please tell your super boss to chill a little as well.”
This comes after Delhi LG VK Saxena had written to Arvind Kejriwal over his absence at Raj Ghat during the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. He has also issued several notices to Kejriwal, pertaining to different permissions required in projects.
In his letter to Kejriwal regarding the absence from Raj Ghat, Saxena had said the behaviour was “unacceptable and appalling” and expressed his “disappointment” at the “utter disregard” by him and his government.
The relationship between Kejriwal and the L-G has not been well ever. Most recently, the two have been embroiled in a political war regarding the recently scrapped Delhi liquor excise policy. It deteriorated further after the AAP launched a string of allegations against Saxena in a corruption case. The Kejriwal government accused LG of his involvement in the alleged Khadi scam, accusing him of fraud of Rs 1,400 crore.
Meanwhile, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also wrote to the Lieutenant Governor regarding an alleged scam of Rs 6000 crore in BJP-run municipalities in Delhi, saying that Saxena is ignoring the scam due to BJP’s involvement, according to a DNA report.
The Deputy CM reportedly had apprised the LG about corruption in the MCD two months ago, but he did not initiate any measures. “Let alone processing the request, the LG didn’t even acknowledge the letter,” Sisodia claimed. “You are illegally interfering in the work of the elected government instead of paying attention to public issues… I request you to order a CBI probe into the MCD scam,” he said. – INDIA NEWS STREAM
