Interpol issues Red Corner Notice against Nirav Modi

New Delhi: The Interpol on Monday issued a Red Corner Notice against diamond merchant Nirav Modi in the case of Rs 13000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud.
The Notice was issued on the request of the Enforcement Directorate which has invoked money laundering cases against Modi, sources said.
The Interpol had on June 11 got a request from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for issuing a Red Corner Notice against Modi and his uncle Mehul Choski, who has also been listed as an accused in the scam. The CBI has also filed a charge sheet against a few officials of the Pun jab National Bank for allegedly issuing fraudulent letters of Understanding to Modi’s companies. Some of them have been arrested.
Modi had flown out of the country along with his family in the first week of January. His current location is not known.
