A 1000 lebanese killed, a million facing displacement

New Delhi: Over a 1,000 people have died in Lebanon in the last two weeks and up to a million more may now be displaced, a BBC report said, quoting officials

A “limited, localised and targeted” ground action against Hezbollah is reportedly underway in southern Lebanon, according to the Israel Defence Forces.
Prior to this, Naim Qassem, the deputy head of Hezbollah, declared that they was geared up for an Israeli ground invasion and that the battle “may be long.”
He made the remarks in the first address given by a senior Hezbollah official since Israel assassinated the organization’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an attack on Beirut.
The IDF claims in a statement uploaded to X that the targets “pose an immediate threat to Israeli communities.”
