Progressive Muslims body IMPAR engages Prabhu on issues before community, country

New Delhi: Prime Minister’s Sherpa for G7 and G 20 countries and MP Suresh Prabhu on Wednesday had a brain storming session with an influential body of progressive Muslims as part of an initiative to make the community better equipped to tackle the challenges facing the country and the society.

The meeting had been organised by Indian Muslims for Progress and Reforms(IMPAR) which is an apex body of about 1000 prominent Muslims.

IMPAR members raised various issues like role of media in demonising muslims , economic inclusion, growing atmosphere of hate and communalisation.

Prabhu, who has also served in the Union Cabinet with various portfolios, stressed that al Indians have a shared destiny and share similar challenges too, and in this case ”Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas” was the only philosophy that would bind everyone together.

He emphasised that Development, Reforms and Progress were the need of the hour. The meeting had been organised by Indian Muslims for Progress and Reforms(IMPAR)

”Mr Prabhu’s focus throughout the interaction was on how Indians should live a life of dignity through economic activities. He specifically discussed the historical role of artisans and how they have always been responsible for bringing prosperity. He mentioned that Atma Nirbhar Bharat Scheme will fill the gaps and bring prosperity among artisans. Artisans can play a major role in uplifting the economy,” IMPAR said in a press statement here.

He spoke further about how district level growth is envisaged through the 5 trillion-dollar economy program. Replying to concerns raised by the IMPAR members, Mr Prabhu laid stress on creation of interdependent supply chains and role of skill education for facilitating livelihood.

Those who participated in the discussion with Prabhu included  Dr. M J Khan, Convenor and Chairman, IMPAR, Mr K Rahman Khan- former Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha, Mr H R Khan-Former Deputy Governor RBI Mumbai, Mr. Yunus Javed, India Representative Saudi  CISP and Aramco, Mr Saeed Shervani, M. D. Shervani Group of Hotels, Ms Sheeba Aslam Fehmi, Journalist.

The program was conducted by Mr. Khalid Ansari, Executive IMPAR and vote of thanks was proposes by Col. Salim Durrani.
